Hood Lift Support

Does anyone know some places/companies to buy the Hood Life Supports for a 2004 GP?

Autozone & Advance Autoparts gave me Mighty Lift & Strong Arm respectively, but I wanted to see if there were other ways to buy a lift support, especially if there were ones that were different colors. I looked around online and couldn't find any other manufactures, I'd love to see if I could find a good quality lift support that was red. But if I can't then I'll just buy the Black Lift Support from Autozone. Thanks for the help.

Well, one/both of my Life Supports are shot, the hood wants to come back down on it's own. So I need to replace them both anyways. So I want to know of some other companies for the part other than just the 2 that I've been given. That way I can compare warranty, price, performance and color. So I figure if there is any way to buy a Red Lift Support for the same price as a Black one, then I should just get the Red one.

If you or anyone else knows of some other companies to get lift supports from, I'd very much appreciate the help, otherwise I'm stuck doing a blind purchase of a part with only having one other part/price to compare it to.

well idk bout your hood strut issue but your username is long and kinda aggravates me. just fyi.

actually just buy the stock ones and paint them easier than paying for someone to paint them for you.

Can't seem to find the stock ones, and though I can probably go to the dealer for them, they would probably cost way more that way. So not really worth it, I'd only buy a Red Pair if they cost the same/similar to a Black Pair anyways.

i ment get stock replacements. anything you get from the parts store will perform like original. buy them, sand them, paint them, install them.

Well, yeah, that's what I'm planning on doing right now, Autozone & Advance Autoparts has some OEM replacements I could use, but I'm trying to see if there are any other parts companies, I hate buying a part when I can only find one other manufacture of it, kinda limits the point of competition and trying to find a better price.

I tried google but didn't come up with any specific parts, just parts company warehouses like autozone and advance. I'll look at those names you gave though. I'm surprised no one has ever had to replace their lift supports yet and done some of this research already.

because all of us that have replaced them used OEM replacements. there is no market for a company to create something like that when it would be the same thing as OEM and probably end up costing more, which in turn would make buyers go back to the OEM part anyway.

like i said, buy a new set and paint them.
