honest opinion on maaco

Matt Palm

WHERES THE LAMB SAUCE?!?!
im thinking about purchasing some things for the racekar and i dont exactly have 800 bucks for paint. what do you guys think about maaco. pics would be awesome too

My honest opinion?

Depends on your expectations, Maaco isn't the worst in the world. They do budget paint work. I've seen great jobs from Maaco and I've seen horrible jobs. Go to shop, look at some of there recent jobs and go from there. Good luck.

ive seen a couple of their cars online but of course i cant tell online and they willl only show good work

what can I say about maaco....you deffnatly get what you pay for. there prep work is terrible, if you even pay them to prep it. there paintjobs tend to last a few years and then it starts peeling/flaking off.
most people have best results by doing ALL the prep work themselves and having maaco only do paint.

oh well then i dont think you have an issue there.. i know there terrible when it comes to full cars.. and they dont tape S*** off...

cant be much worse when i took my car to get the fender fixed and painted for 800 bucks i got my windsheild wheels and wheel well painted also for free. i was told they would take the fender off to paint. welp i got my money back tho

matt it does come primed, but they also have some sort of sealer on top that must be sanded down and then re-primed for good quality.

I gotta go with the workers. It's one not to far from me that does awful work. Just awful. Then there's the one that's like 30 miles away and they do amazing work for the price. Do some research.

I would never take any of my cars there to get painted. I would do the paint work myself before going there.

just throwing it out there, I was quoted 300 for paint on the top surface of my f1 hood, and that was from the best place in town.

my parents had a car painted there a long time ago when it was 99.95 for a full paint job, they said it looked good for about a year and then like magic the car was back to the color it used to be before they painted it. no primer or anything.

i have a spray gun i dont think it would be that hard i have painted little things before. my only problem would be i have no idea how to blend it all if i needed to
