Homemade CIA Question?

Do you guys think it would be better to run my intake to the front grill so that I will be sucking in colder air since the engine heat wont have as much effect or is there not much of a difference?

Then just run a 4" tube and a big filter from autozone on the end of it. Done. Leave the screen in the throttle body too.

That's the idea most people have when they take it out, but it shouldn't be removed. It straightens the air flow so the MAF can get an accurate reading and adjust the air-fuel mixture properly.

If you take it out, it will likely cause you to run lean, which is why a lot of people think there's a power gain to be had from it. Because of the inaccurate MAF readings, it will be compensating for a problem that isn't actually there and therefore, screw up your long term fuel trims which will likely cause you to lose power over time.

Yeah I wasn't planning on removing was just curious why you would remove if you chose to
Thanks for the proper explanation bro, learn something new everyday!

i hate to threadjack but its a legit question. would throttle body screen removed possibly make me run rich?
