Yeah it happens 
, definately a good thing it was caught first! That is caused by TCC pressure being too high. Sonnax makes a redesigned TCC blowoff valve that goes in the channel plate and I have been using those for quite a while to prevent the damage you experienced from happening. Lockup will attempt to work but wont work right and often codes pop up, as well as noise on lockup
