Highway vibrations...

I'm sure most of you prolly rear my post about some vibration issues I have been having at highway speeds... I keep assuming its a CV problem, cause it sounds like every post I have read about it...

(heres a link to the old post... http://www.grandprixforums.net/vibrations-52886.html#post657514)

So today I had another GP in the shop, same year, same everything. I decided to start measuring everything. Engine is sitting in there right, subframes in straight... so thats all good. I noticed the ride height seemed alot off compared to the other one. The test car sat level all the way around... My car is 1.2 inches higher in the rear, and 3/4 inch lower in the front than the donor car. I know there have been issues with lowered cars and vibrations... is there a chance this is my problem? I was going to put in lowering springs and kyb struts down the road... but don't really have the money right now... I am ok putting in quick struts for now if anyone thinks this might be the problem...

SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH YOUR CAR!

If you needed 5-6 balances and 2 alignments you need to figure out what is causing you to need them. Are you smacking curbs daily?

I work in a shop, and I have a 3 month 3,000 mile warranty from the dealer... but they are being no help....

I first balanced the almost new fr710's that were on it.
They decided the tires were bad, they replaced them, then balanced them.
Then they decided they got a bad new tire, replaced the one, rebalanced them all.
Then they decided two rims were close to tolerence with a road for balancer.
Replaced all 4 rotors, pads, and two rear bearings.
Replaced two rims. Rebalanced.
Tried a set of CV axles, Aligned. *NEW axles... not reman*
Replaced both the lower engine/trans mounts.
Flipped the upper mount bushings.
Tried another set of CV axles in case one was bad... Aligned again.

Obviously.... nothing has fixed it :P lol... All this in 30 days... I'm pulling my hair out.

lol no I don't hit curbs :P

Never know with some people on here, but now that you put it all out, it makes sense.

What about your steering rack? Any popping when you go over bumps, towards the struts possibly?

No popping that I have heard... rides really well... once I hit 62... it starts vibrating lightly.... then if I give it just a little gas... it starts to vibrate pretty good... when I let off it just goes back to the light vibration. All the tie rods are in great shape. The lower control arms are in really good shape... ball joints are good. I don't feel anyproblems with the rack, and everything including the rack bushings are tight.... Everything in the rear end is good and tight.. no worn bushing... engine runs great, shifts smooth... idk...

How is the rim run out? You should be able to see if your rims are true and correct on the tire balancer depending on the type of machine it is.... Even if your wheels balance out to zero after putting the wheel weights on ,your rims can still have a bend in them and cause vibrations.

I only know this because I worked in a shop for a long time and a customer had issues similar to yours...

Two of the rims have been replaced... with brand new GM units, the other two are ok. I think I am going to go with my gut and replace the dogbone mounts with the shorter ones, with the front suspension sagging almost an inch, and them only costing me 5.88 each... It is worth a shot. I'll let everyone know tomorrow what happens.
