High pitched hum and vibrating sounds?

So just within the past couple days my GP has been making some weird sounds. It started with a high pitched hum, then the hum with a louder vibrating sound. I've checked the belts but they seem to be ok and were replaced last summer. Everything still feels normal too. It's also completely stock not even an intake or anything. Any ideas would be appreciated!

When does this occur? In park idling? While driving? All the time regardless? Specific RPM range? Gotta give us some specifics. What year is the car?

Check your power steering fluid. The pump can whine when it gets low on fluid.

Sounds like somebody hard wired a vibrator in your glovebox... Lol

No need to be a "d*ck" about it, lol.... Sorry, couldn't resist :th_laugh-lol3:

Do you hear the hum when you have the blower on? Might be the blower motor causing the vibration/hum sound. When they get junk in the squirrel cage or the motor starts to go bad they can be out of balance and the higher the fan speed, the worse it gets.

Also I forgot to ask, is your CEL on?

haha I wish there was a vibrator in my glovebox atleast that'd be an easy fix.

And the noise is there all the time whether the blowers on or off and no CEL.

It became to dark too fast so I was never able to check the power steering fluid but that will be the first thing I do tomorrow.

Id put a Ratchet extension on your alternator and listen to see if its coming from there. Mine did the same thing and thats what it was.

Mine does the same thing its a 99 GP GT also all stock already changed tensioner pully bearing, and water pump thinking it was that also checked power steering fluid and thats not it the noise my car makes it also high pitched, I'm thinking on changing the A/C compressor since thats not working thats posibly it in my case cuase I took the belt off and gave the comp. pully a few turns and sounds like bearing is messed up.

also almost forgot any body know if you can change out the power steering pump pully ball bearing or do youy have to change out the whole thing?
