I have a gtp and never had this proble but i picked up a 2000 gt to bum around in and when started cold it idles at 1900 rps and once warm never drops. It drives fine no problems but the ldle wont come down. Ive tried unplugging the TPS and other sencors on the TB but it has no affect and ideas i can try? Thanks

spray carb cleaner at the vac lines to see if its got a vac leak.

clean the TB yet?

you can also try pulling the throttle lever back, maybe the cables is frayed up and holding the tb open a bit.

So you have a high idle, but it otherwise runs fine? Check the IAC valve on the throttle body, it may be stuck.

Also check to make sure the throttle or cables are not binding.

Well i checked for a vacuum leak and nothing the cables are fine i thoght it was the IAC because when i manually set it the idle was fine when i plugged it back in it would jump back to 3500 rpms so got a new one and same problem.. can a pvc valve cause a high idle because im stumped we scanned the car everything is running like it should tested everything.

1. Start the engine
2. Reach over and with your hand, try to push the throttle closed, Does the idle drop?
Yes: See next step.
No: Take off TB and clean behind the throttle plate, gain access to scanner to see what TPS is reading at idle.

3. Let go of the throttle linkage, does the high throttle return?
Yes: see next step
No: When you work the throttle in the next step, is the throttle sticky? If so, clean TB

4. Tap the throttle, does the high idle condition return?
Yes: Most likely the throttle cable routing on the strut tower (does a dumb loop), is not sitting properly. Wiggle it around and likely it'll fix itself.

Done all that and have a good scan tool that lets me in fully to see all the real time reading the TPS is working correctly the only code that ever comes up is idle speed higher then expected. There must be a pin hole vaccum leak or MF leak i cant find to account for the idle speed being off.
