"High Beam" options, well more flash to pass

So I have HIDs in stock housings, I did not get the duel stage ones though. So I have no high beams. Today however I was thinking on my long drive home, I have no lights to flash. I.e if there is a officer on the side of the road or to let the truck driver know I am letting him in so he wont crush me. So I was trying to think of lights I could add, or modify to do such a thing...

Goal would be that they only come on when I flash the high beam switch, I have no intent to actually use them as high beams.

Maybe add fogs behind my bottom mesh grill? or some kind of housing behind the top grills?

Just kinda fishing for thoughts here or if anyone else has thought the same thing.

Leave it's is. Learn to hurry up and switch lanes when needed without being crushed. Seriously how often would u be put into that situation. 9/10 you'll have plenty of time to slow down and creep into the other lane. If someone is on the side of the road if not u slow your ass down and let the oncoming traffic past then make a move.

But I'm guessing your just feeling the need to spend money on something....

Lol kinda, im looking for something a little fun and not to expensive I can do in the parking lot of my apartment.

Was also thinking I could just wire into the parking lamps so they flash when I activate the high beams... But not nearly as different

Re: "High Beam" options

If it's a must you can just wire up your parking lamps to be your flash to pass in case you do end up needing it

Re: "High Beam" options

FYI: if you're signaling an 18 wheeler, don't flash your brights. Just turn them off and on two or three times. It's easier to see the signal and doesn't blind them, giving them purple spots to avoid for the next 10 minutes. As for signaling other drivers about a cop, screw em. If they're dumb enough to drive like an idiot without scouting the area for snakes it the weeds, it's their problem. lol - Problem solved. No high beams needed. ;)

Re: "High Beam" options

do you not have fog lights? they have a switch??? That's what I do to signal folks

Re: "High Beam" options

Retrofit and enjoy lows and highs that are properly aimed. HIDs+stock housings=big blinding blob to every other driver on the road

Re: "High Beam" options

Why not just buy hids that have high beams? If you're only going to use them for flashing and not driving it seems by far the easiest solution. Probably cheaper than trying to build your own lights behind the grills too or something.

See that would be a simple, way less fun option. I have no need to actually have high beams, more just to have the flash to pass option back

Re: "High Beam" options

OP, you have several options right in front of you.....

Headlights, manually "flash" them off/on.
Headlights, flash to pass as you normally would.
Foglights, manually "flash" them off/on.

All three above will allow you to flash to pass, by you making the lights switch off and on quickly.

I use my fogs for said feature, off/on twice, repeat as necessary.

I have hids in the headlight and fog light place so flashing them isn't really a good idea.

And I have no flash to pass because I have no highbeams.

I'm just looking for a more fun solution. But as of right now it looks like im gonna wire the flash to pass into the parking lamps. Or fogs set behind my bottom grill

So they say. Been doing it for 10 years now with no ill effects.

Right. You can do "off/on" instead of "flash".

Sounds like you have your mind set, so good luck.
