HIDs in stock 2000 GP headlights

LS1GTP

It's Slow
I know the right way is to use projectors, but I can't justify $200 for the headlights that I don't necessarily need, since the car is just a daily driver. Sure, if the stock headlights were worth more to sell used, I'd do it- but for getting at most $40 for my mint depo headlights, it's not worth the extra money to step up to projectors.

So, this question is just for the people running hids in their stock headlights- is the light output noticeably better from a 35w kit? Because I know the factory headlights don't have a good beam, so more light may not mean better visibility.

Flamesuit is on for those that didn't read.

HID in oem housing vs halogen is like going to bed with a 3" penis and waking up with a 10". Hid in oem to hid in projector is going to bed with a 10" penis and waking up with a 11.5".

You will have more light, but it will be all over the place and hurting other people. Get some HIR bulbs or something, but please don't put HID's in your stock housing.

I'll be using 5000k or lower bulbs, so it's not going to hurt people's eyes as much as blue hids do. I realize I'll have more light, but is it going to be usable light? Of course it won't be comparable to projectors but I don't want that right now.

Quite frankly, I don't care if it's too bright for other people. Deal with it. People put hids in their fog lights all the time, those have much more glare than any headlight.

Those kind of thoughts are exactly why there's so many of them on the road. You say you don't care until you cause a accident or get ticketed for it. Rather its a DD or not do the right thing..put yourself in someone else's shoes don't just think about yourself.

That being said 5k is just as bad as 8k. Glare is glare. Hids have no reason to be in a reflector based headlight.

Scattered reflector housing or not.

My HID's are fun.

**** you other people, tint your windshield.

I have HIDs in my stock housings.

Much brighter than stock thats for sure.

But if aimed poorly, you will blind the sh*t out of people.

Mine are not aimed the best and i get flashed quite often, but i have Hi and Low beams so when i get flashed, i flash them back and destroy their eyes. BAM, yeah im a dick.

If someone flashes me or has their high beams on, they don't get the curtesy flash- my high beams stay on until they pass.

Heck with it, I'm going to order them.

i have stock housing with HIDs and i can see a lot better then with the crappy oem lights.... people flash me and i just flash them back

I had the spyder projectors in a different GP with hids and I was actually impressed with them. Not as good as the retrofit I did on a different car but they still had great output and pattern.

i have 55w 8k's in stock housings and there aimed kinda high, but even tho the light is scattered, theres a **** ton of it so it really doesnt matter. i dont get flashed that often so idc as long as i can see, because i have to aviod all the idiots in NC

You cut up stock headlights and put projectors from theretrofitsource.com in there to make your own projector headlights.

Joe it's really not that bad, there isn't that much that you need to cut. Take a closer look at my headlights next time I see you.
