HID right side brighter then left side.

So I recently bought a set of Kensun 6000k HID's $70 off amazon. When they arrived one of the bulbs were a different socket type so I called and they sent out another one. While waiting for my other bulb I went ahead and installed the right side bulb. When the replacement bulb arrived I installed it then noticed the slight difference, the right side "original bulb" is more whiter then the left side "replacement" blue/white-ish color. I recently installed a wire harness thinking that maybe it wasn't getting enough juice but it still same issue. Is this normal or should I contact them and have them send out another bulb? I saw a couple video's on youtube but no answer to them.

Thanks

For a cheaper brand of HIDs, there will be slight discoloration. Unless you buy a higher quality HID with better QC, that is going to be a common problem. It could also be possible the wrong Kelvin that they sent you, but can't really tell as cheap ones vary greatly. As I've read is if you ever replace one HID, it best to replace both so they wear and burn together. I would just email them to complain until they send you a "matched" set, but good luck ever finding two that are close to identical without RMA'ing a few times.

check volts with a volt meter at the wire harness on both sides. if the readings are different then thats prob the problem. if your getting the same volts on both ballasts then its prob the bulbs. if you switch bulbs from side to side and the colors do the same then you can be 99% sure its the bulbs and noting else.

Well I went with Kensun because they had very good reviews about the HID's. Also I was able to grab the $70 kit for only $20 because I had a $50 amazon gift card collecting a lil dust!

This is what it looks like

You can easily tell that the left side has a much more blue tint to it then the right which to me it's pure white!

Contact kensun, this happened to me when i got my fog lights from them and they replaced the bulbs for free. I’d bet it’s just the bulbs not your wiring or ballasts. Also if you have a 06+ Grand prix you need to get a wire harness. Well you don’t need to but 50% of the time when i turned my headlights on only 1 would turn on so i contacted them and found out that the 06+ GP's use a variable voltage regulator and it messes with the ballasts.

I have an 05 GT and I was having same issue sometimes but I also noticed my alternator was making weird noise while powering these things up. So I bought a harness which helped a Sh*t ton! My lights power up a lot quicker now and less stress on alt!

Im going to bug them tomorrow about it!

HID lights are not something you want to cheap out on. I got mine from retro solutions and they are amazing. They are a bit pricey but they are digital ballasts and 55w

I thought $70 was pretty expensive compared to all those $20-$40 brands! Kensun has some really good reviews and majority of them are 5 star reviews so I figured they be good. I probably got a bad bulb the first time when the other was wrong socket so I will just call and bug them until they send me new set. It does come with a 2 yr warranty as well.

Just talked to Kensun and they are going to send out another pair not just 1 bulb but 2! I even said I would send it mine and they said don't worry about it.
