I'm thinking about getting hids for my 97 gtp and i was looking under the hood the other day thinking of where to mount the ballast. i was wondering if some of you guys could post some pics of where you mounted yours. and another thing is there a write up on installing them. and What brand i found these for 90 bucks and i don't know if they are any good.HIDXenonHeadlights Shopping Cart

mine just kinda sit there,
since i got 4 ballast and 2 relay harness, its alittle tight
everyone on here will say DDM tuning or vvme
i went with vvme last April, got them on ebay for like 55 bucks, for my lows(8k 55w w/relay harness) and like 45 or 50 for my fogs(10k 35w w/relay harness)
and on there site it was like 70-80 each so i saved like 50% on each

there just plug and play, but with a harness it can get tricky, just search or post here with/for any problems you may run into

how do you know what what wattage to get? and i had a new bcm installed into my car because my old one burned out so now i have automatic lights and only turn on when it just starts to get dark out. do i have to pull the fuse out to make the lights manual if i get hids or not?

I run the Beamers bi-xenon 35w lights; more than bright enough. The hi-beam is slightly brighter than the low beam, but not by much. The kit you mentioned above has the halogen hi-beam for legality reasons only. It's light output is minimal.

I also disabled the DRL's and the twilight, as I prefer my lights to be fully manual. The DRL's will kill most HID's, but the twilight is fine.

Doug- you dont use 2 bulbs, if you want high and low beams you have to get a bi xenon bulbs(high and low in the same bulb)
what do you mean by choosing wattage?
depending on what K you go with, the 55w will be alittle brighter then the 35w, i went with the 55w 8k cause bigger is better and i like blinding people.
Do you know what K you want to go with?

6k should be tops anything more is just ridiculous! I got 4300k when I had mine. Pure white. Anything higher than 6000k is annoying as fvck when you meet or are in front of them. It just blinds the sh1t out of you and is very distracting. Be nice to other drivers and give that some thought please.

are you saying 8k should be the max for headlights. cant you see more with 8k than 10k. i planned on doing my fogs when i got the extra money

**** other drivers

Cool story.

The lower the kelvan temp, the brighter and whiter the light is...wattage isn't that big of a deal...4300K 35W HID's in stock housings (as long as the capsules are clear) are plenty bright enough...the problem with factory capsules is that there isn't a beam pattern...it's just bright as ****. Hence why HID's with retro fitting most of the time is the way to go.
