Hid foglights

Fairly new here so I hope there isn't already a forum about this subject, but I apologize if there is..

Looking to do either an HID or Halo fog light set up. Specifically looking to get a blue tinted bulb instead of a yellow/white

Is there any bulbs out there that are direct oem replacement that can be put into stock housings to be used? I understand some get too hot for the stock houSings but I just figured I'd ask!

Any links would be super awesome, preferably I woul like to just find some easy bulbs to swap out with the normal ones but I understand that may be easier said than done. Thank you in advance for any help!

Back when I used to search......
880 bulb 6000 k and only 35 watts would be ballpark.
but what do I know, I don't have hids in mine....I don't need the flare

880 HID's swap in just like halogens (plus the ballast). A direct swap. In some cases, the small fog light housings have melted with even as low as 35w. Maybe in warm climates anyway. I was able to find 25w 880's so the chances of melting are slim.

I must warn, the fog lamps will glare pretty badly with hid's in them. Just like when HID's are put in headlights. I keep them off at night for that reason. They make good DRL's, looks really nice.

I've got HID bulbs in stock the housings. 35W. Been running them for a few years now with no issues or melted housings. I live in the country where dark roads are the norm and have no issue seeing at night. Never even bother using my high beams.

Those ones in that Amazon link, did you buy that exact kit and hook them up? Reading the reviews I'm a little skeptical..

Are the ones in that link above ones you used for your fogs? from looking at some of the reviews im kinda skeptical on ordering them because some people said they do not directly hook up like they say they do. also i see your from MI too? im in the lansing area man!

Yeah. I put hid's in factory housings and am current working on a way to stop glare. Either mod the bulb to match the halogen design, or make projector fogs.

We're talking about fog lamps ^ Not sure if you were.

Yep, in my fogs. I adjusted them best I can and have yet to have anyone flash their lights at me. I've driven behind my brother and he said they were bright, but not blinding. I'm sure they glare since the housing isn't made for an HID light pattern but I'd rather have a bit of that vs. not being able to see sh*t on a clear, dark night on a 2-lane country highway doing 60mph where deer and other assorted flavors of vehicle damaging roadkill are common. Gotta love stock headlights.

I will eventually look into some projectors but until the funds exist and I find some this will have to do. And no, I don't always use my fogs. Just when needed.

Honestly, my hid fogs do not make me able to see a single bit better at night. But its hard to compete against retros lol

.....and have yet to have anyone flash their lights at me.
I never got flashed when I had PNP HID's, in both headlight and fogs. I used to run fogs in the day, and fogs and headlights at night. Well, two weeks ago I got flashed twice in one night with me retro's only on. WTF? I can see the cut off on the fawking ground! Stupid people!

Half the motorists on the road have no clue about lighting, so when they see something brighter than what the are used to seeing, they flash. Again, stupid people!

Yeah i emailed the company and asked them if they truly are "plug and play" and the literally just copied and pasted the description from the posting on amazon and sent it to me... So my question wasnt answered and i dont think i will be ordering from them. I dont feel like tossing out $40 for something that may or may not work... Especially if they are not forsure plug and play, the amount of Negative comments compared to positive ones are enough to make me skeptical.

To be honest, im not really looking for a lot of functionality with the HID's mainly just for looks as i think that the HID's make the car look alot better and alot meaner.

If you really want to go with HID's in your fogs (which I recommend against for the mentioned glare issues), get a setup from vvme.com.

I ran a set of their 35w H1's (bulbs, ballasts, and relay harness) for over a year in my retrofits before getting some Morimoto's, and they never gave me any issues in spite of the price.
