HID Ballast

i have seen HID kits that have digital ballast and slim ballast whats the difference and which is better?

It shouldn't be too much of a difference between ballasts. There are some digitals that claim to have no warm-up period which would be good for your hi beams but the one's I've seen are $350 for a kit

The Slim Ballasts aren't necessarily any better performance wise, they're just alot more compact than a regular ballast. Some companies do offer digital slim ballasts.

Digital ballasts use a microcontroller (integrated circuit) to control the ballast's operation whereas the "non" digital ones rely on a feedback circuit comprised of capacitors, resistors, etc and no integrated circuits. This "non" digital type generally has no hot-restrike protection, meaning that if you turn off a "hot" HID bulb and then turn it back on you can cause damage to the bulb. Slim line ballasts come in digital and "non" digital as well.
