Hi All,

My name is Rod. I'm live in Eastern CT with my wife and 13 yo daughter.

I just purchased a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GT this past Friday.

Deep Blue with most options. Tan leather interior.
New tires, brakes/rotors good, Recalls done, cat converter done in 2012 along with the water pump, thermostat, hoses etc...
Owner said he always uses full synthetic oil every 3,500mi. (Just done 400 miles ago)

Bought it from the second owner who purchased it in 2007 with 29K on it.
Seems to have been taken care of and garaged most of it's life.
Not to say their aren't a few things that need to be done.
Drivers side hub assemble was replaced today. Drivers window regulator will be done tomorrow, and the strut mounts are beginning to make some noise.
Not uncommon for a Pontiac with 142K on it

Other than 2 of the Instrument panel lights, everything else works as it should. Pulled the dash out today and replaced the 2 bulbs but still not working. Tried 2 other bulb assy's that were working and still nothing. Have to figure that one out still.

Anyhow, hope to learn and share what I can.

Thats the best blue these cars came in.
I hate electrical issues, I would much rather burn the thing down that try to mess with the electronics lol.

it almost sounds as if the mileage was rolled back. car that sit for a long time will have more leaks than anything else. Was this car stored in a bar by any chance?

Car is dry underneath. No oil leaks. I put it on my mechanics lift yesterday to check everything out.
The brake lines are still clean with no surface rust. Like I said, it was garaged and the owner took good care of it.
No signs of rust around the rockers or wheel wells at all. Plenty of small chips and minor scratches but for $1900.00 I'm pretty happy with it.

Its a good car for your daughter. I have a dark blue grand prix aswell, mines a 01. I have 70400 on the odometer, bought in 2013 with 49500 on the odometer. I dont think you will be doing anything to car besides repairs, heres how mine looks now, 2 and half years later. Pictures are outdated, I have roof rails on the roof, different exhaust system off a 2004.

Looks nice Mirraco.
The car is actually for me. My daughter won't be driving for a few years yet.

Now to figure out the radio. The display is starting to go on and off. IF I find an original replacement, what years will work?
Radio is non Monsoon, has steering wheel controls and door speaker covers say Bose.

You guys know if a gauge cluster from a 2000 GTP will operate fine in my 2003 GT?
Found one along with a stock radio and 1 door speaker on CL.

Mileage is close to what I have. My cluster works but their is an issue with 2 of the lights for the Tach / Fuel Gauge area. Tried replacing the bulbs, moving 2 of the working bulb assembly's and still no lights. Possible a bad trace on the circuit? All fuses are good as well.

Replaced the Gauge cluster and it's working fine. I have some LED,s on the way for it.
Front struts replaced last week with MOOG full assembly's. Still have some front end noise/squeaks at low speed over bumps. Not coming from new struts though. Front end alignment done as well.
New door panel clips will be here tomorrow. Most are worn or have been broken. The rattle of the door panels in the car drives me nuts.

Any of you guys GP's have a distinctive air flow sound coming from the air box right behind the drivers headlight? Sounds like one of those turbo fans that can be put in the air duct to increase flow.
