Hello,

Thanks having me here. I've been a fan of all things Buick for as long as I could remember, and more recently the V6 specifically. It was my dream for the longest time to build up a Grand National for racing until I finally bought one... Now I'm scared to break it, and sadly that's just part of racing! I decided to keep my GN pretty stock but still fun for occasional cruising and bragging rights. However, I still have the speed bug and a love for the V6 so here I am. I bought an '03 L36 out of a Bonneville about a month ago, and I am almost done stripping down and modifying a '97 GP GT harness to control it. After that I want to get this thing running in stock form on an engine test stand so I can work out the bugs before I drop it in to a RWD car. What kind is still up in the air. I look forward to learning with you guys.

hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiijonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Buy a small RWD car...think Porsche 944, mid 80's RX7, etc...

Stuff LS in it and be boring because it's faster and probably cheaper than a 3800 setup.

I'm just going to keep the idea of what car I want to use a secret...

All I know is that I want to go all Mythbusters on the Mustang T-5 conversion. I've searched up and down the internet and even made a couple calls looking for some solid information about getting everything to work. However, it seems that there are only speculations and dreams because I haven't found a single person or company whose done it! I want to put the myth to rest, and regardless of whether I pass or fail I will be sure to let you all know about it.

I'm keeping my ideas a secret because I might change my mind a million times before I actually settle and buy something. Don't get too excited. Lol

Hi Jon. So you allude to a T-5 conversion, in a rear wheel drive car. I did a T-5 conversion once with a Buick 6. It was a 1964 225" built-up Buick hooked to a T-5 in a Chevy Monza. The first gen Buick sixes had steel cranks and rods and were the strongest of the old odd-fire Buicks. Mine had 1979 tall-port Smokey Yunick stage 1 heads, a 650 CFM carb on a custom intake, and went like stink. It was the most fun car I've ever owned, and I wish I had it today. It smoked clutches, though. I used the standard flywheel and clutch out of a 1976 Buick Skyhawk, and it wasn't big enough (8" clutch if I recall correctly). If I had it today it would have a gen III supercharged motor in it. It's a good engine and blows away the older generation Buick sixes I used to play with.

Have fun with your project and good luck finding a car to stick it in.
