Hi beams and low beams at the same time?

Last week I had a fog light burn out. I disconnected it for the time being. But things are a little tricky.

If my low beams are on and I turn the fog light switch on the ONE(since the other is burnt out) fog turns on like normal. If i turn the high beams on they turn on like normal, but if i turn the high beams back off they stay on and the low beams turn back on as well as the fog light. So the high beams, low beams, and one fog light are all on simultaneously, i LOVE it. It's bright as hell.

BUT
But say I turn the the low beams on but leave the fogs off and then turn on the high beams. They come on like normal. I turn them off and they turn off and the low beams come on just like normal.

So having the fog switch on is causing all three sets of lights to turn on...weird. I'm not sure if this is because of having the bulb burnt out or what.

What I want:
I want to be able to turn the fogs and lows on like normal. But I want to be able to turn the high beams on and have the lows and fogs stay on too. And then when I shut the highs off they shutoff and the lows and fogs stay on. Is this possible? I'm assuming a wiring guru can figure this out. I'm not intelligent enough to figure something like this out lol.

I have Spyder headlights.

you would have to replace the stock relay but im not 100% sure because if your fogs are stock then they made it pretty much impossible to have the highs, lows, and fogs on at the same time due to a relay.

my fogs are not stock but theyre connected to the factory wiring so it shouldnt make a difference. They operate with the fog switch just like normal.

Holy crap man, my head hurts..lol. You could just wire your fogs independent, like you would if you were adding aftermarket fogs.

shizz i gotta headache after i got out and looked at em like wtf why are the doing that....aaahhhhh i cant see

I have a link to make the highs and lows on at the same time but the gots you have to run a relay. Lmk if you want the link. It's a pretty easy mod, I just did it.

Post it up! The high beams will still operate correctly though right? Like you shut them off and they turn off nomally?

mattyyyyyyy i haz spyders silly....says in the bottom of my OP lol....i think two separate bulb will be ok and i wont melt anything.

The reason why all of them don't come on straight from the factory is because some states have a law limiting the number of lights that can be used. IL, for example, has the 4 light limit.

So mod all you want, just be aware.

The easiest way to do this is to put a jumper wire from the hi beam plug to the low beam plug, with a diode in between.

Result:
low beams on = low beams on
hi-beams on - hi and low beams on

I would advise on using relays and larger wiring to get you the brightest lights possible:

I ran this set-up on my Bronco for the auxillary lighting for at least 10 years with no issues whatsoever.

That's literally all you have to do, I know I did it lol.
OLD thread i know lol but....

what if you have DRL, different way to do it or the same? and is a 97's wiring different from the 98-03?

currently i have these mods installed:
Fogs on with highs
DRL rerouted to fogs

not sure if that would make a difference

i believe i tried this before and it did some crazy sh!t to the car, maybe i didnt do it right...

How do you do the highs and fogs and the DRL fogs?
