Hello, im in the process of ordering a CAI from 3800performance. Im probably going to buy the Thrasher or K N CAI. I was curious as to how much the difference will be in performance. It's my first mod on my 2000 GTP. Will it make the supercharger whine louder? Will in increase low end acceleration ?

Just run some pvc down close the the fender and put a filter on it. Be a lot cheaper. I have amsoil filters for sale.

If you want to spend the money more power to ya.. Yes it will increase the supercharger whine and you might feel a little help on the low end. I would suggest getting your exhaust work done as well...

i made my own, i actually might start making these for the poor new guys who want to blow $300 on a K&N, as a cheaper and more efficient alternative

ill make another thread with some feedback if guys are interested in these intakes. shouldnt be a problem for me

I snagged a thrasher setup when I first got my car for 30$ shipped over on clubfail. I wouldn't buy a new one I'd build one.

if you want an opinion on vendor intakes, ive had slp's CAI and it was alright.
I currently have a thrasher CAI and its a bit better, cone is hard to keep on.

I had an open cone on my car before the fwi and it seemed very sluggish going through town in stop and go traffic. Running down the highway for a few miles after the underhood temps went down it seemed to run great. My opinion is that my car runs better and is more consistant with the fwi than with the open cone. It seems to run the same whether I'm in town or on the highway. I couldn't see any benefit of my engine sucking in 150*+ air into my engine. Just noticed the negatives of it breathing the hot air coming off my engine.

ive just got a completely gutted airbox with a drop in K&N and it feels the same as with a HAI and the WizAir. sounds the same too
