• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Haha so they just declared a state of emergency for GA.. we are suposed to get hit again tonight through Wed. This should be interesting again lol.. our Northern bretheren are going to laugh at us again

Again?

I'm still laughing at the first round.

2"~ of snow and the entire state falls apart.

Try 22"~ in spots. That's what we just got.

i'll readily admit that we've gotten a lot of snow this year, but we haven't had any large snowstorms that hit us with over a foot.

despite the severe cold, the snowfall this year was pretty manageable.

Yep again!! The governor just issued it.. hes not making the same mistake twice with what happend last time... like ive said before ive lived up North for years but the issue down here is that they dont have the equipment like we did up in IL. The city of Atlanta has just over 6million people and thats just who live there.. theres prob more like 10 million in the city at any given time.. so imagine all those people trying to get out to their homes lol cluster fuq!!

Ya I was.. luckily i was at home the whole time lol it took some people like 18hours to get home like 20-30 miles lol

I also think this is relevant here

...because I hate NYC...for driving up taxes in the upper part of the state because they want a pretty place to drive in the summer months...**** you NYC

My dad has a lifted 95 Jeep Wrangler Sahara edition and made easy work of the snow storm with his 33" swamp tires haha.. he pulled a couple people out of ditches with his winch too lol

Ya i think its coming up from the Gulf then swinging past us and up there.. you will prob get something like thursday friday i think

I agree it is funny how much the Southern region freaks out over snow and ice. However, the difference between the north and places like Atlanta is the temps when this happens. It is usually close to freezing so anything coming down can melt and turns into a sheet of ice. Once that happens, it doesn't matter how much experience you have, you are going to slide unless you have studded tires or chains until the road crews can get stuff down on the road. If the precip keeps falling, any sand/salt on the road is useless pretty quickly. It doesn't make sense for areas this far south to have a large fleet of equipment for this kind of weather because it is so rare. My Mom is from Iowa and I have a bunch of family there. They have come to visit in the winter and noted this same thing. Where they live it stays near 0 degrees for long periods of time. The snow isn't going to melt and turn into ice. It can be driven on. Not so much in the south when temps remain near 32 degrees or climb above 32 for several hours and then dip back into the 20's.
