Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

help with the knock please

it could be worn down were the piston connects to the crankshaft thats what my buddies car sounded like and thats what had to be fixed

Sounds too fast to be in the bottom end. Probably a pushrod, rocker, lifter, or broken valve spring. Its coming from the valvetrain.

Nothing is too fast if it is bottom end related IMO...pull and check the plugs...if they are damaged then it is in the bottom end...if not...sounds like a bad lifter. Cheapest experiment I would try would be to buy some Lucas Oil Stabilizer and throw some in there and if it stops...THEN its valvetrain related.

Just curious, what could it be in the bottom end to tick that fast and consistent at an idle? Anything I've ever heard from the bottom end is knocking or clanking at a slower pace more on the rpm range of the crank from a bad rod or main bearing or wrist pin versus the faster valve train cycles.

thats what it sounded like on my friends car so we pulled the oil pan off and the crank shaft was all worn down were the piston connects to it

You've never heard some of the things that have happened to my car then have you?

LMAO!

I had a rod bearing spin around...and it clattered VERY fast...strange...but it did...oh...and cam bearings that come out too sound pretty nice ;)

well i put the oil stabilizer in and same thing. when i brake slowly and get to about 15 it stops or a couple seconds then starts again. it stops randomly sometimes too but mostly every time i hit 15

i had the same noise in my car and it came and went then the motor just went it is way 2 fast 2 be a lifter and even if so.. noises travle travle throught the motor do you have a after marked boost gauge and dose the car miss fire at all..? that would let you know if it is in the valve train .. that is a hard noise that dunt sound soft trust me i ave done many 3800 motors i am doing one now in my car now because of the same type noise ...

A couple things if I will...

1) Care to tell me how a boost gauge will aid in telling if there is a valvetrain issue?

2) A Boost gauge won't tell if there is a misfire...only thing is will tell you is if you have a vacuum leak or not...

3) If you let a noise like that come and go and not even attempt to fix it...you shouldn't be around cars.

4) Try using F7. It is a WONDERFUL thing. My head hurts after reading that.
