Help with friends grand prix

GAFF

PittState Automotive Tech
Its a 01 gtp. All stock had the cat replaced before and the egr, msd wires, and a cone filter.

I drove it and the car hits boost and soon as it does it bogs and the fuel trims jump to +8 and continues to bog all the way through boost. car moves back and forth like a bad bog.

The supercharger lines all looked weird to me if any one can take a couple pictures of the vacuum lines by the BBV that would great thanks.

Any help is appreciated.

His vacuum was around 17 ish so didnt seem like a leak maybe a small leak?

Thanks

Re: Help with friends car

Yea his vac lines are ****ed. Thats gotta be the problem

Vacuum can bog an engine if it's a huge leak. Small leak will lean it out and make it run like a raped ape.

Yes do a crank learn, but it's probably not going to make any change that you'll notice.

What plugs is he running, what condition are they?
What coils are on the car? I ask because of the mention of MSD wires. If he has MSD coils, please swap stock back on and try that.
Ensure the O2 wiring isn't touching the #4/#6 plug wires.

hes replaced the plugs many times. The coils are stock.. Already told him not to touch them the wires he said came with the car when it was bought.. Ill try and get a picture of his engine bay to see how ****ed up his vacuums to me look.

Boost is probably blowing the vac lines off...or where they are cracked/broken they open up.

I had that issue with mine blowing off the LIM under the blower...but it wasn't noticeable when the car was just sitting.

Try a new set of vac lines brah.

We know it's not for you. That's why money ain't an issue! :th_king-evil: Geezus..help your buddy spend some dough, and ensure he gets you a 12 pack for the info.

He'll hook me up.. I don't think there is a dealership around here for him to get them.
