Help with body repairs

I rear ended a Honda CR-V because they stopped really hard and the grand Prix couldn't. I tried to miss her but there was a ditch next to me. Didn't hit it too hard but apparently I hit a crunch zone on my car. The pictures should explain what is messed up.

So here's the bad news. Apperently our insurance doesn't cover damage to my vehicle which is probably the dumbest sh*t I've ever heard of. So all repairs have to be done by me.

A few questions first.

Where is the best place to buy a new quarter panel and hood?
Does anyone have one for sale?

If I get a quarter panel at the junk yard are they the same on a four door and a two door?

How much might fixing all of this cost??

Also if I have this in the wrong section just let me know and I'll redo it.

Thanks for the help. Jared

New parts from a body shop would be $2,000 easy with labor and paint.

You're talking a hood, fender, headlight, headlight bracket, maybe even the metal bracket on the core support too, then repaint the bumper.

Fenders and hoods are the same for 2 door and 4 door. Used parts should be less than a few hundred bucks.

Stock brakes? What go fast parts on car?

If doing it yourself, can be done as it doesn't look too bad. I'd run around and get a few estimates, ask if you can supply parts and only pay labor, extras as needed. Explain it's not an insurance job and you're paying out of pocket. I've gotten some good deals when explaining it properly and doing some of the leg work.

Good luck!

Stock brakes and abs/TCS lights on. Just a drop in filter and a few small things.

I'm gonna try to do everything but paint myself but if I take it apart and it looks really bent out of shape I might send it somewhere and I'll try telling them I'll supply parts like you said.

I'm going to start the tear-down this afternoon while I have the day off so we'll see

Can you pop the hood and get a picture of the braces thats kinda the tell on how easy it will be to fix.. This is a perfect thread for idrivejunk

Swapping fenders bumpers doors is pretty easy but braces and impact zones are a different story

So basically you were following too close, and/or not paying attention?

Also as for insurance not covering damage to your car, that is called full coverage. Sounds like you have minimum liability which is why damages to your car aren't covered since you are at fault.

No need to a kick a dude in the face when he is down. Fenders + Hoods typically go for $40-50 at you pull it yards, Headlights around $25. Another good source is always craigslist. I sold my running and driving car for $160 to the yard and the hood was gone in less than a week. The rust claimed her.

I wouldnt fully cover one of these cars either lol. What you would pay in deductible could buy you another one.

My son crashed my 01 monte ss kinda the same way just on the other side.. i thought "i can fix it" until I popped the hood and seen the braces and crumple zone bent and the engine pushed over.

Scrapping that car is how I got into grand prix's. So it wasnt all bad

How do you get the fender off? I have all the bolts including the two under the door and the one above the splash guard but it's still hanging on to something under and around the door

The other question is where are you at.

I would agree with them about the you pull yards. I've just gotten a everything you need to include the headlights/corner light, front bumper cover, hood and trunk lid for my GTP. They were pulled from a GT. Mine were not damaged, they just looked bad and I thought it would be easier to repair if I found one of similar color.
If you inner structure is damaged then that opens another can of worms as everyone has already pointed out.

Looks like a rivet.
Drill it out and use a bolt/nut + washers for reassembly.
You probably already figured that out.
I was about to cut it with something. It's in a really awkward spot. I'll take more pics to show the location

Maybe a Channellock end cutting nipper
That would be a great tool for this. If I had one lol

I'm starting to think this whole side skirt might have to come off if I want to drill it out.

How do you get the side skirt off?

Here's a better look at where it is.

There are a few 4 doors at the pull a part close to me but none are black so either way you can add the price of paint in. Also, the ones there aren't in good condition at all which is why it might be worth it to try to buy them new.

I found a fender on eBay for 60 bucks with free shipping but the hoods are more around 150 to 200

The hoods I would keep looking around for. I know at least once or twice a month there is 2-3 new Grand Prix's at each yard I've been to. If the fender is the correct color for $60 you can't go wrong.
