Hey i have 600 bucks waiting to be spent. My 2000 grand prix gtp has 140k miles on it so i dont want to blow it up. I was ready to make my first two mods a CAI and 3" downpipe. Do you think i would notice a gain from making those my first two mods ? Will it pop the engine ?

yes you will feel a gain in performance, just make sure you do all maintainence first so you wont blow anything up. i would say short ram intake and headers and new plugs if i were you tho...

Thats a good start, Id look into headers before you jump on the dp alot of the guys on here will say that they never should have wasted time with dp/ plog/ pems

another area you should look at is the front manifold they are really restrictive
soo if you wanna stay with the dp then get them ported or replace with a plog

but id recomend headers Pontiac Performance Racing Products for International Sales from SSAutochrome Inc.

also read up on this http://www.grandprixforums.net/f81/safely-modding-your-3800-powered-car-17482.html

intake, exhaust, and a tune. You will feel it. I started with a ubend delete and a tune and it made an improvement. and the colder plugs, and t-stat are cheap, throw them in too.

how much does a tune usually cost just looking for a rough estimate. mods i have just a short ram intake headers are on there way 180 tstat and autolite 104's are in my basment waiting for the weather to warm up then dropping to a 3.4 pulley

$100, plus shipping, and you gotta get a case learn done..... which cost me $45. but the first few places I called wanted $100-$140.

ssac's are still out of stock was gonna order mine last week altho now going with pem's instead

But they are the route you should go

$600 and 140k miles? Save your money for when repairs pop up. At that mileage you could easily be overdue for supercharger oil, coolant flush, power steering flush, transmission "flush", brake fluid flush, spark plugs & wires, O2 sensors, and just about every bushing and piece of suspension on the car.
