HELP! Sputter Under Boost (feels like missfire)

You mean the electrical connector with the vaccum lines in back of the engine bay?
 


This on a 3.1 pulley? Still seems big to be slipping, but I guess it could be if something is leaking on to the belt.
Hm, maybe check that your front O2 sensor didn't wiggle out and nothing's touching it.

But you definitely need to hook up a scanner. I suspect that none of our suggestions will do you any good without it.
 
ya the white connector on mine that points up problem is mine is a 97 and if yours is a 98 and up your diagramm will be different
 
Cliff, which connector are you talking about. I still get that same code from time to time on my '97.

This is on a 2.8 pulley. I am now running a full size intercooler. I drove around with a buddy's scanner hooked up, and no codes even at WOT?
This was done after I took off the 2.8 and put on a 3.3

It still stutters with the 3.3 just not as bad, but no KR on the scan. I swapped the pulley because earlier today, I would see like 6-7 degrees at 50% throttle WTF!!?? anyway, I wasn't trying to blow up

Checked that connector and all others. Everything is looking good
 
Update. I just found out that there is an exhaust leak at the bottom of my x-over pipe where it clamps to the downpipe. Could not get to the clamp to tighten it down today. Could this be my problem? Maybe false kR? Does heavy KR cause the car to stutter like a missfire?
 


Sorry for taking so long to get back there is a test for your knock sensors. you have to hook up a scan tool, then you tap the sensor with a screw driver and watch your kr if you are not getting any then that is the problem. if you get to much could tell you never had that problem. it also does help if your exhaust is air tight.
 
And yes the engine has to be running. also you can do it without a scan tool but you might broke the sensor. basically all you have to do is listen to the rpm's but so have someone watch the tach. when you hit the sensor the rpm's will jump if the sensor is functional.
 
Thanks to everyone for the help. I found the problem a few days ago. My .52 gap on the 103's was too large. I took them to .49 and still had a very slight miss. So I brought them down to .45 and she's running better than ever.:th_thumbsup-wink:
