Help! Snapped my GTP shifter cable

I snapped my 1997 GTP shifter cable yesterday. Can't find a new one. Why am I having so much trouble finding a simple cable? Can I use a universal cable? How long is the stock shifter cable? thought I saw 31 inches - does that sound right? I want to fix this today. Thanks for your help. -Mtrmes02

go to a bike shop and buy brake cable for bikes...same stuff, and its usually stainless so it wont break again

you sure it snapped and didn't just come off the nipple on the trans gear selector?

Happened to me once, just had to click back on.

There should be three connection points. At the pedal, at the bulge in the cable in the engine bay (usually near the airbox) and at the trans.

JY or Morad is the way to go for one.
