HELP snapped lowerintake manifold bolt off?

the bolt closest to the ignition coil snapped off when I was tightening. it's the one in the corner.

should I leave it or will it leak here without that bolt? I believe I can pull the LI OFF and use vise grips or pliers to remove the broken bolt.
 


it's bolt number 6, if you look on a torque sequence chart. it's the bolt that is near the plastic gasket on the side of the LI.
 
you can take a good bolt to the hardware store and see if you can find a match. find a nut that fits the good old bolt, then find that nuts thread and pitch in the bolts area.
 
I found a pack of bolts that fit at o reillys.

also, when I put the lower intake back on, the few bolt holes on the LI closest to the firewall on the passenger side, those bolt holes appeared like they weren't lining up. however, I kinda wiggled the manifold and still didn't align, so I moved that corner and stuck a pick in the hole, and it looked like the gasket wasn't aligning, because I was able to move the gasket and then the bolt holes appeared lined up. does this sound like it will leak? the manifold looks seated, and it bolted down fine. all the bolts also screwed right in. I'm just worried something didn't align or I moved the gasket off or something. maybe the weight from the manifold pushed the gasket down and I pulled it up with the pick?
 
if the gasket looks the same space down from the top as the other side, or the other head you sould be ok.

the metal lim gaskets have locating pin the gasket locks into. as long as those were in it should be ok.
 


Generally you want to put the gaskets on (they have pins to line up) check all the holes, put the rubber things on that go across and silicone the corners, drop the lim on and start tightening down.
 
I did the rubber gaskets on the sides, and then I put the metal ones on. I used rtv silicone on the corners of the rubbery gaskets and then put the lim on. it was just that one side where the metal gasket appeared to be in the way of the bolt holes. I think it was 2-3 bolt holes. I moved the lim corner a tiny bit which allowed me to move the metal gasket clear of the bolt holes. the SAME gasket at the other end, didn't have an issue with the gasket in the way of the bolt holes, just the one corner on the other side.

I pulled the LI manifold up a little on the passenger corner and stuck the end of a very small screwdriver into the bolt hole and gently pulled on the metal gasket a tad. after this, all the holes appeared aligned and I was able to bolt the LI down.

I just find it weird. I didn't check the bolt holes when I put the gaskets on (my fault) and only noticed those few holes where the gasket was in the way of the holes. and since the gasket has the tabs, I didn't think it could move or flex.
 
You shouldn't have to check bolt holes.. if you put the gasket down correctly the pins Scott and Aaron are talking about will keep it in place. The fact that you moved it suggests it'll leak if you don't pull it again and ensure it's lined up and in the pin holes like it should be.

The two holes under the coolant ports are the alignment holes for the little nub pins on the gasket.

how many times are you going to say the same thing? its fine im sure.
 


do you know what the blue connector is behind where the alternator connectors are? I have the red wire, and the alternator connector, but there's a blue connector too. I took it off and can't find where it's supposed to belong. I got almost everything back together!
