• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Since no one actually answered your question, the '98 GT has 195 h.p. and will run 15.5-15.6 in the 1/4 mile stock. The '98 GTP has 240 h.p. and averages 14.9-15.1 in the 1/4 mile

As for starter mods.

A giant spoiler, Candy paintjob and 26' Rims seem to work well.

JK

but In all seriousness get a COLD AIR INTAKE, REPLACE ALL GASKETS!

Oh, I don't know.....don't performance and the way a vehicle looks go hand-n-hand ? Ya gotta figure if it's gonna be used as a daily driver and not just a vehicle to use at the track, sooner or later most owners won't be satisfied with a car that has better than stock performance but looks crappy. What's the first thing that people notice about a vehicle? The way it looks. If the car runs and opperates as it should but is in need of some body and or paint work, at least be proud of it every time you approach it even before you get into it. With a set of nicer rims ( need not be aftermarket or even brand new if the $ isn't there), you get better looks and on occassion better performance. I bought a set of American Racing wheels last Spring when I had the extra cash at that time. They are still in the boxes and will be until my GTP is all sorted out with it's rust and water leak issues. The last thing I intend to do to mine is engine output upgrades. At least it'll look fantastic and run as good as it can with the stock 240 h.p. Just my input.

At least be accurate. (You must own a GT)

The GT is going to average far closer to a 15.8-16.0.

You already settled on a GTP, good choice.

Now can I convince you to not piss your money away modifying a turd?

I was running 15.6s with a then new ( fresh) '98 GT which was 100% stock. With shorter tires of about an inch I recall, my best was a 15.47
I've seen GTPs that look "mostly" stock running 15.0-15.1.

Your 15.47 is the equivalent to a stock GTP running 14.6's. Not usual.

Thanks. I've been racing at drag strips since 1977. Practice pays off. My best ALL stock with my '98 GT coupe was a 15.61. My best ever , with the shorter wheels & tires was 15.475 @ 87.44 m.p.h.
