• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Help please!

I replace the LIM gaskets on my L67. For some dumb reason, I dont know why, I took off the belt tensioner that is attached to the distributor. Now for the life of me i cannot put back on right. What am I missing? There are two bolt, one for the actual pulley, and another for holding in place that you have to use a 1/4" socket to take off. It has a male STAR connection. Thanks in advance for any help. I have searched and the "how to section" does not exist. It just shows a blank page.

Which one??

Every time I tighten it up, where the Star Male thread is no longer reachable it still feels very loose. Not like the tensioner is giving out, but like its not tightly connected to the engine. Thanks

how did you get it off then?

i use a 12 point socket, kobalt. fits perfectly inside the tensioner. pretty sure its a 13 mm nut too aint it?

Thanks for yalls help I got it. I had to do a little improvising. I grinded down a 15mm socket. Thanks @Scottydoggs and @fiverfingerdeathpunch I really do appreciate the pics. I couldnt find a picture of the pulley set ups without the belts on and an actual "real picture". Thanks again for yalls help about to go crazy! Been inside my girl for the past 6 hours! I dont know how she does it but she can keep me going all night! LOL

The reason why your 15mm sockent didn't fit is because you put the wrong nut in there. It is a 13mm head nut with a small shoulder and made to fit a 10 x 1.5 thread.

Alrighty then. Had problems with the starter, I believe had the wires touching and connected wrongly...So trying to start her up and she is not giving in. Shell try but no start. The fuel pump is going crazy, making noises. I believe there is air in the lines, but i bled the fuel rail many times but no luck. I am going to try to replace the fuel pump, but if im getting fuel to the rails, then there shouldnt be anything wrong with the pump...right? Will double check the fuses and what not. Thanks

Yes please on the starter pic. At first hook up she sparked really bad at battery and the starter was going nuts. After I thought I re wired correctly, I hooked up the battery and she didnt spark any, everything was fine. Thanks

Going to go buy a New battery and see if thats the case. The battery on her now is old and been sitting for about 6 months rolling around in the back of my truck. Thanks

Awesome! thanks will try the new battery. I had her on jumper cables with my truck and she sounded better trying to start. The fuel pump didn't "cough" when she had good power, so Im hoping it needs a new battery. Thanks again

If not the battery, I bet ground! Since thats kinda what I was dealing with not too terribly long ago and had issues of the car not starting
