• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Help Please!!!

01 grand prix gt 3.8L not super charged, I have replaced the thermostat sensor and thermostat, today because I thought that was the reason my temp gage was going up, well it turns out that was not the issue because my temp gage still wants to go up to the 250 mark. Is there any way to check to see if it might be my heater core, when I turn the heat on the gage drops down to the 170 mark or is it my radiator.

Thanks to all of you for your help.... I took my car down to have it checked ,the guy told me that he hooked my car up to a scanner to see what was going on and it seems that my car is running fine, but I have to take it into the dealer because he said it is either my cluster or my new sensor isn't giving the thermostat gage the right reading.

A guess would be the new sensor, because if I remember correctly it sends two signals for the temp. One goes to the cluster and the other to the cars PCM, so the PCM may be getting the correct temp, but the cluster is not and that is why it seems that its getting so hot.
