• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Help please

I have a 07 Grand Prix base that has this issue that keeps coming up but not all the time. Ok I will do the best to describe it. When I start up car and go car feels like it isn’t getting enough fuel but when I hit the gas it gets up and goes. Like hesitation and car doesn’t shift like it normally does like takes longer. But whenever it does this I can shut car off restart it and it runs perfect. Things I have done change mass air sensor o2 sensor plug and wires all gm replacements. Only mods really are intake transgo shift kit overkill tune. And I have put stock tune back on no change. And like I said it doesn’t happen all time it can go weeks without doing it. And it’s daily driven. Just looking for hints or help to try or something I am missing. Thanks in advance

No codes and mass air was acdelco I have used two of another one from junkyard that was cleaned with mass air sensor cleaner just like original one in car. Do you think it still could be that? Car has 107k on it just don’t understand why it doesn’t do it all the time that is what has me puzzled

Have you removed the throttle body and cleaned it up? When the DBW stuff gets dirty it can cause strange issues. Just a thought.

And be careful with cleaning the DBW throttle body... I had some really weird issues after cleaning mine the first time, turns out the throttle body cleaner spray actually got into the motor section and played hell with the circuit board in there.

If it needs a lot of cleaning, just open up the side cover after you clean it and let it dry out overnight.

Hmm... are you sure it's not a transmission issue?

It almost sounds like your issue is really similar to the one I've had for years... No Forward Cold

If you can rev the engine before it goes into gear then it has very little to do with the engine itself. And the whole thing with shutting it off and restarting it to fix it? that's part of resetting the "limp mode" where it commands max pressure and shifts harshly, which you might not have noticed because of the shift kit in there.

I'm not the most knowledgeable on here, but I've got a decent handle on the 04+ particulars and the fact that you mentioned it taking longer to shift than normal tells me that it's at least partly a trans problem.

Well here to update thanks to all that replied. I cleaned off mass air flow sensor and took throttle body off cleaned it. Since then car has been running perfect even took road trip this weekend over 1000 miles no problem. So once again thanks.
