Hi.
i have a major issue and i would appreciate some help. i have a 2005 grand prix GTP with a 110,000 miles on it. a few months back i took it to my local shop because i started hearing a loud knocking noise under my leg when i drive and hit bumps on the road. the mechanic told me that the catalytic converter is falling apart and needs to be replaced. i did my research and found out about the zzp dp while i was looking for a cheap aftermarket cat. i looked in ebay and found the ALL STAR catalytic converter for about $126 and i also found the zzp castles dp for about $136. i'm not sure which one i should get. i heard that the zzp can enhance the car's performance.
did anyone got the zzp dp? and if so do you guys recommend it for my car?

the catless downpipe may cause a check engine light on your car @scottydogs maybe he can help with that info

zzp sells catted down pipes and off road dp's.

speed daddy on ebay also sells off road 3 inch dp's with no cat. 3 inch hi flow cats on ebay are like 50.

or buy a 2 1/2" cat off ebay and have the shop weld it in place of the old one, still like 50 bucks chipped.

I have a good stock downpipe with converter that I would sell. Took it off when I put headers on. I would like to get 75 plus shipping and PayPal fees. I can take some pictures is you are interested. It came off my 2001

If you go with ZZP for that year and go catted, you will need to buy the o2 extension. The ZZP DP moves the o2 bung further away so the stock wiring harness won't reach it. Not sure about the other options though.

Where in Ohio are you located? It's up to you on that. If you straight pipe it, it will throw an engine code and turn the light on in the cluster.

do you recommend that? or you think a straight pipe is better ?

As Jdiding said earlier, you're going to have a code that throws the check engine light if you go catless.

If you have a way to tune it out though, catless is the way to go.
