Help please!!! Electrical system acting weird, Car won't start now!!

Ok something in my electrical system is messed up the past few days the car isn't responding to the key fob consistently and the dome lights and locks don't work either. This was happening about half the time. Then yesterday I pull up to the store and my car just dies but it started right back up. Today as I'm getting ready to come to work I get in my car and nothing happens. It won't start or anything. And to top it off it won't let me have my key out of the ignition for some reason.

How and where do i start to troubleshoot this. I'm guessing it probably isn't a fuse since it started doing this at random before completely quiting.
 


I believe the ignition switch needs power in order to get the key out. I just recently went through a bad battery connection issue that caused a similar issue. The big clues are that it wont start and wont let you back the key out, both power related.

So I would make sure all the big electrical fuses are good, any of them dealing with ignition, charging or starting. Then go to the connections, particularly the battery connections.
 
I'm wondering about the battery being bad maybe, I have seen similar things when my battery was bad where it would start then stall and what not, and no electrical no sylinoid to remove key
