help no speedo?

the speedo in my 97 gp gt just quit working along with the cruise and dic info that is tied to the speedo(mpg,range ect.) i changed the vss no change i tried to drive with it unplugged wouldent shift so its not the vss put in a cluster from a 98 gtp from my sons car same problem any ideas would be apreciated before i have to start chasing the wire from the pcm up thanks!
 


When this happened to me it was because i was careless when i installed my headers and the wires got against the rear header and burned them.
 
Not sureif this is any help but I know a GTP that the speedo stops working when you put it in neutral. Put it back in drive and it shoots right back up to your speed.
