help me with a stock plug please

Okay so I am about ready to putmy engine back in the car and I need some plugs. The car is a '99 GTP with no mods.

I did search and there is a lot of info on plugs but I cannot seem to find the simple answer of a stock plug. I went into the parts tore and for stock plugs they gave me Champion double platinum 7013. I read something from billboost that said these cars do not like anything platinum and I don't think that I want to use the champions.

So bottom line what is a good reasonable plug to use on a stock motor? Autolite 606? gap .050?

Stab that ****er. He's trying to break your car. Never use Champion; Never use platinum.

Autolite 606XP iridium will do. Or AC Delco stock iridiums. Or the NGK equivalent which I can't remember. Gap to .060 (make sure to use the proper tool for iridiums if you want to gap them, not a gapping coin - they can be sensitive to such abuse). If you gap to .050, you'll probably hurt your gas mileage with the smaller spark.
 
just run copper plugs and be done with it. they are dirt cheap and are best for how the motor runs.

It's not really a big deal one way or another ont he money I just want to get a plug that works well with the car and lasts reasonalby well. My daughter will be away at college and I won't have the access to it for the maintenance.

What kind of miles can I expect as a rule of thumb from the coppers before they should be changed? I know the iridiums are higher mile plugs...

If I go copper it looks like Autolite 606, if I go iridium it looks like XP606 or ACdelco 41101.

Coppers last at least 15,000 miles before they fail and cause misfires. Iridium lasts 100,000 miles. Not that most college kids manage to drive 15k miles in a year, but I'd go iridium for the peace of mind.
