Help me replace my coolant elbow

if you had a 25 piece socket set in your trunk, the tow would have never happened, you can do elbows on the side of the road if need be.

hope you have AAA or something.

Ya IF need be. I wasnt anywhere near a parts store to get coolant elbows, or coolant that I would need. Like I said once I parked and shut off my car it was like all the pressure built up and pop she went. Not a big deal to me. **** happens. Im over it.

Also if you dont know what your doing its rather easy to get rattled and frustrated when stuff like this happens. For instance this is my first car, so anything that happens to me like this is a first. I will always give it a try or come on here to try and figure out how to do it on my own. I like working on my car. But not all of us rip apart 3800s all day or work on cars for a living like you Bill. You must have done these coolant elbows hundreds of times if not more. I have one set done now lol.

hell i just changed my first set and took me less than 10 mins because most everything was out.

When mine went I was downtown 13 miles from home, since only the too blew I managed to wrap the elbow with duct tape, put water in the coolant, and I made it home, this is my 9th car in 3 years, 6 of them being neons and only my 2nd v6 next to a 2.8 turbo supra, this was my first time running into a coolant elbow explosion, but got it done in 40 mins replacing inner and outter tie rods on Saturday

I think you are confusing me with a mechanic. Let me show you a picture of what I do for a living.


Correct, I dress nicely and sit behind this desk all day. Similar to what you are doing, I learned by saving some money and since a nice bunch of folks helped me learn, I share that information and help others. I learned about the bolt behind the tensioner (the one you can't see) by doing the job and not being able to move the piece. Hence why there's now a writeup with pictures, tools needed and number of bolts with their locations.

Oh I apologize then. Basically in High school I choose to learn how to build houses not cars. This forums been great for me for tackling jobs. My mindest is actually when in doubt look for a billboost write up.
