Help me plan my rebuild/strengthening

So after talking to folks on here, and the guy from TEP. I think im going to back off on my trans plans.
I already bought the input shaft, and i do plan to install that. My trans is also shifting lazily between 1-2 and 3-2 . So i think im going to get new shift solenoids as well as a shift kit.
The full rebuild isnt something Im going to do. If i grenade the trans i loose all of that work. at tax time, ill probably get the stage 2 build kit from TEP and do a proper build with a 1 inch chain etc.

My question is, what is invovled in installing the input shaft. what seals and stuff will i need?

TEP has a 1 inch single chain set. so instead of all the other stuff i was going to get, im going for that.

I've seen 7/8 chains stretch with 300whp. They are little if any stronger than stock.

Gxp chains are holding 600whp on a few cars. 500whp is about their comfortable limit though.

That doesnt seem to match what TEP ZZP and a few other sources have said.

On a similar note, GM used the GXP chain for all stock chain replacements after a certain year, so if you buy a stock gemenai chain set its most likely the GXP chain.

They all make a good amount of money selling 7/8" chains too. They never should have been pushed as an upgrade because they aren't. I think Dave may have changed his opinion on them as of late too.

Dave told me as recently as last week that the GXP chain wont hold.

Extremely interesting info right here. I'm already looking for the parts I will need for a full trans rebuild and wanted the best TEP had to offer so I contacted them but they say for anything above 375whp they would need this 1" chain that is hard to come by so they can't help. But I am happy to hear GTPpower say that the GXP chains are a better alternative from actual experiences. I'm personally hoping to reach 450-500whp with the stattama kit.
