I am looking for suggesstions and pictures of exhaust tips for my 2000 GP! Im tired of the stock look. I need something that will fit without having to do any modding. I also dont want to spend a fortune, just some that look nice and give my car another unique look :th_winking:

Also, what does it take to remove the stock tips? AND how do you install the new ones?

If you go to Ebay motors and search 2.25 exhaust tip you will find a lot of nice tips. Most are weld on and will cost anywhere from $40-$120 but well worth the money I think. Or you could just polish the stock tips on your car which will look a lot nicer.

I sanded my exhaust tips and I love them!

You can get them shinier then this too. I also only sanded the rim of the tip.

Sanding the tips to make em look nicer sounds much easier! What type of sand paper did you use? Let me know what the process of that is ;o)

im just powedcoating my stockers i think see how that will look if it doesnt look right im only out 20 bucks

cars running rich and they get carboned up pretty quick

And as far as taking them off theres clamps where they meet the muffler just lossen and it helps to have a rubber mallet to bang them off

Too sand them I just started with a really rough grit sand paper. I think I had something like 100? I don't remember lol

Just get something rough so you can get a strong grip on the tips. Scratch them a bit and you'll start to see silver. Make sure your wetsanding too, just have a cup of water next to you and dip the sand paper in.

Then I went up in grit. I tried 800 next and it got smoother and shinier. Also I was wetsanding at this part too. Then I moved to 2000 and it got smoother and shinier. You can polish too and go the whole 9 yards, but I stopped at 2000 grit and I like em. Just gotta keep them clean because they will turn black again lol. You can just wipe em off.

if your keeping the stock exhaust tips n mufflers id recommend painting the backs of the mufflers flat black or a darker color. the second u bring out the nasty stock tips youll see what im talking about. lol

I just got done sanding mine and they look awesome i sanded the inside too not just the lip around it. Theres a how to write up on here in the how to section its on the second page and named polished exhaust tips or something like that. I think its the cheapest and easyiest way to do it. The only thing i just found out was to take the tips off if you want to do it by hang or use a dremel with differnt atatchments.
