Help identifying connector.

How's it going?
I was hoping someone with a little more experience might be able to help me figure out what a loose connector I found under my hood might be. My car is a '96 SE with a 3.1.
I found the loose connector zip-tied to the power steering lines last night while changing my alternator and after much searching, I was unable to find where it would plug in. There are two wires, one looks to be brown with a white stripe, the other is either white or yellow. I just bought this car and I do know that it just recently had intake mani gaskets replaced, my guess is this connector was disconnected during that service. The wires come from the large bundle of wiring coming up between the alternator and ignition coils. I have looked at some online wiring diagrams but haven't had much luck, I'm hoping one of you on here can help identify this connector before I have to trace the wires all the way to their source.

Im having difficulty posting a photo, I'll jump on a computer and put one up in a moment.

Thanks,
Tim

I appreciate any help guys. I'm looking over all connections, vacuum lines etc. Trying to bring this tired GP back to life. This one connection is evasive, I feel like I've looked everywhere it could reach.

Thanks,
Tim

it could just be one of the stray plugs we all have. it looks like it fell to the back and got melted a bit. and the whole plug is filthy, tells me its never been plugged in.

Kind of what I've been thinking. I have owned several of these 3.1 gm sedans, all have had random connectors, maybe provisions for 3.4 engines. I never noticed this one on any other cars I've had, but it does look like it's spent some time resting against a hot manifold so maybe not usually up where id normally see it. Thanks for the reply Scotty.

i have at least 2 strays, maybe 3, i forget lol most of them have something to do with CA emissions cars with the air pump crap. that you dont have.

I am in CA. But all my emissions equipment is hooked up and accounted for. I'm just going to tuck this one away and move on to the next thing. The car's not having issues and I have looked every possible place this thing could plug in, I'm pretty confident it is in fact a stray. Thanks again for the input.

Thanks,
Tim
