Help - Electrical Ac/ Heat issues 2002 Grand Prix GT

Hello all,

I am new to this forum and would really appreciate your help before I pay someone a ton of money to fix a potentially easy problem.

The issues:

Ac/ Heat do not work unless the switch is on the highest setting. My digital diagnostic display is out (the diagram of the car which shows a door open and also gives you your mpg, distance to empty etc.) and my day time running lights are out.

I saw online the ac and heat issue could be the blower resister but would this also be affecting the lights and electrical? It all happened at once.

If you know what may be wrong, is this something I could fix myself? I am not a mechanic and the extent of my experience is switching out an alternator and basic maintenance.

Thank you so much in advance

Sincerely,
Brian

If the blower only works on high then your resistor is probably bad. Where are you from in oh?

Well, in that case, check all the fuses first. Chance that it's a coincidence seems unlikely, but it IS a Grand Prix so these things could happen. Don't forget about the fuses in the glove box area.

I have been sinking a ton of money into this thing lately, only has about 60K on it and very clean so I don't want to get rid of it but its like one thing after another.

If it is a fuse for that it would likely be the one the one in the glove box but think its also the radio fuse just can't remember.

Hello All,

I discovered something additional about this issue. When the car starts up the drivers information center works just fine, I do notice that when the fan speed is at zero the headlights work, then the intervals until high phase out the headlights and then they come back on again on high fan speed.

Any clues?
