HELP: crankshaft postion sensor location?

I got a 96 grand prix se and it either starts very rough and dies or no start at all so i wanna try to replace the crank sensor but i searched the net for about a week now and cant find anything on it. anybody knows where it is?
 


There are 2 crank sensors on the 3.1. The 7X sensor is on the back side (firewall side) lower middle of the block. This crank sensor is not as big of a failure as the crank sensor wiring harness from the crank sensor to the ICM. The harness gets coated in oil and shorts out. The 24X sensor is behind the harmonic balancer. I don't think I have ever replaced the sensor behind the balancer.
