Help an idiot get his DHP tuner working

Heres the deal, I bought this car 2 months ago:

99 SE
Top swapped
ZZP tuned pcm
TOGs/ downpipe/ full 3" exhaust
42.5lb injectors
3.4" pulley

It runs rich as hell, every time I do a WOT run the damn gas gauge goes down half a tick LOL. Anyways, I got this tuner off someone from clubgp in hopes of being able to diagnose and try to salvage some gas mileage (currently 18 highway) and have been trying to get it working.

When I hook up the tuner/ serial cable, it tells me I'm missing drivers. Anyways, when I hook it up to the obd2 port- the tuner light blinks red, serial cable light is off. It tells me that it can't connect, the baud rate is good at 115- which I should have since its the latest version, com ports are matched at 5.

What else should I be checking? Will the zzp pcm not link up at all? I just want to scan it for now. Thanks.

First..What OS are you running on your computer?

You have to download the correct drivers or it won't work.

-You need to install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1.4322 first.
-You need to make sure when you open the DHP software that you connect to the correct port for your tuner.

Done and done. I'm using vista 64 bit. Port on the serial ends in 5 when I check in my computer>device manager>serial usb, thats the one I've selected in DHP.

I plug the tuner in, start up DHP>turn key to ON>select register> says it cannot connect and asks me to abort/retry/ignore. When I hit retry it brings up the window with the baud rate+ com port. Thats essentially what happens.

I have framework/ mdac/ keyspan installed- essentially everything I need to run it from what I've read on different forums. Can anyone confirm that a DHP tuner will not connect with a ZZP pcm?

IIRC ZZP PCMs are locked? Not 100% sure

You can try changing the COM port when you connect. I started at 1 and went through until I got the correct port, which was 4 on my computer.

I had to run the program in compatibility mode for XP sp2.

I made a post on

Powrtuner.con for 64bit installations.

Ok I'll look into both of those things, thanks guys.

I've been trying to track down a spare lower mileage drivetrain+ pcm since I bought the car. With how many grand prixes I see everywhere, I'd think plenty would be getting parted out- not the case :(

The tranny on this thing having 233k worries me lol, its slipped once so far.
