Hi all, new to Grand Prix's but not new to Pontiacs. Picked up a 05' GP for my son after I totaled his Gallant on Dec 19th. Got cut off by an asshole in the rain and spun out into the concrete divider. Pick this car up for 2k, has some issues but so far been able to fix most of them. Looking forward to learn from ya'll on any secrets this car has.

Picked the car up for $2000, has 179k miles so I know it's going to have issues.

At first it was popping fuses and then the turn signals and 4 ways quit working, the seat not working and a leak in the trunk. There were 2 wires cut and a flip flop wedge in the seat track from previous owner. Once I fixed the wires and replaced 8 fuses and removed a wire that was added to the fans hot wire and ran into the fuse box Don't know why just removed it because it was not right. After all this the seat works and the signal work again. I think the wires were shorting out popping the fuses.

To be honest, the previous owner was a pig. Car needs extreme detail and the carpet thrown out. Biggest issue right now is the transmission. I know the dealer drained the fluid and replaced it with new. It's too clean for a car with that mileage and it smells burnt. I also know that the passenger side rear had a collision at some point but looks like the body shop did ok work, outside you can't tell but in the trunk pan it's noticeable. I'm good enough fixing manual clutches but autos I'm smart enough to take to a shop. Hope I don't get butt raped in cost.

The car is for my son so just trying to fix the what we can and get it back into running shape. Other wise it's a decent car.
