Heater/AC Control Unit LED replacement

Has anybody done a replacement of burnt out LEDs on the Heater/AC Control unit?

I hate to drop $200 on a new unit when all I need are a few LED's to get everything looking new again.

Is it as easy as desoldering the LED's in question, and putting new ones in?

Does anybody know what kind/spec of LED to put in?
