Heat Knobs Broke... help

Ok so the knob on the side of switch the air flow(Defrost, Panels, Floor, etc) is broke. And when I tried putting it back on it just fell off. Well I tried taking the other side off and couldn't without the fear of breaking it too. So can I just go to the junkyard and get a new one w/o breaking it, or do I have to go to the dealer?
