headlights don't shine far-97

Does anyone else find it difficult to see at night with the headlights? I bought a lot of headlights and was told sylvania super star ultra were great. Still don't shoot far. Any help would be appreciated.
 


+1 Retrofitting is a good way to go.

Its much cheaper now, I bought everything New and it ran me about $220 the last retro.
 
Sylvania SilverStars aren't that good. The coating on the lens removes light, which reduces your visibility (filters will never add light). For best visibility, you want a good clear glass bulb.

The best 9007 bulb out there is probably the Philips XTreme Power +80, but even the best bulb can only do so much in our housings. A relay harness will also help, but once again the stock housings can only do so much (adding more light that's not properly focused is far from ideal). If your headlights are pitted and hazed, new stock housings will make a much bigger difference. The original Spyder projectors (H1 bulb) will give you an even bigger improvement, even with the alignment issues. A proper projector retrofit would give you the most improvement if you've got the skills and/or money.

Also, before you spend any more money, have you tried aiming your headlights?

yeah just get projectors or hid's...if you're like me and dont want to spend the cash, get used to not being able to see. If its raining dont even bother just take the bus lol. but seriously.

Are the 8000 blue? light/dark blue? Enough to get pulled over by the police? Shine far?

Also, I have a gap between the grille and headlight you can put your hand in sideways. Do you have this issue?

Are the hid kits difficult to install? Is it something with no experience can do? Also, do you need a capacitor? I saw something about bulbs flickering without it.

I am running 10k dark blue fog light and 8k lighter blue headlights and i can see great. I never have a problem with the cops. Hids r very easy to install it is like any other bulbs but make sure when u do install then u have those little rubber gaskets on the bulb to keep water out and also because if not u will melt ur housing i have done this to 2 fog light housings lol
 
Ya, our stock lights suck. I installed some Blazertech driving lights, the old school good glass ones, and damn, what a difference, those became my new head lights. Later down the road I got a set of new headlight lens capsules for Christmas from the GF, because mine were weathered, and kinda yellow, and it kinda improved the light output, but not as good as the fog lights output.

I got in on that group buy for the Spyder Auto projectors, and that was by far the best upgrade. Mine fit better than others, out of the box, no adjustment needed, the right one did shake a lot while driving, but put some foam weather stripping under it, and that stopped.

I would like to get HIDs for them, but want to be able to use my low beams, and high beams with them.
