headlights bounce around

i was wondering if any of you guys use something to make them stop doing that, i feel like the projectors are ganna break. i used Styrofoam but its ugly
 


Lowes/home depot. Maybe even wally-world.

Mine, I used some thick weather stripping around the fender/where the turn signal is, and some of the foam under the headlight. Looks really good too.

Cost about 5-10bucks at a home supply store.
 


Yeah, friggin headlight mounts are a joke, I bought after market, though matching stock headlights units and to readjust the things like three times before they would stop bouncing.
 
NewBoost, if you look in my sig picture, I just put some of the prior mentioned foam around the chrome part of the headlight, and ta-dah! no bounce.
 
I used some of that seal foam strip thing that they sell at the home depot that comes in a roll. They sell it in the A/C stuff section to seal doors and s h i t.
 


The weatherstripping foam works well just like everyone said. I have also seen some people use the stock healight brackets on projectors and that seemed to works well. That or make up a set of retro fits, that seems to be the best headlight set up for our cars

What does retro fit mean? I have seen this term on here frequently.
 
You take a real, legit projector, and do some sort of voodoo to get it inside the factory Grand Prix headlight, thus retrofitting it with a HID projector.
 
I just bought stock replacement headlights from amazon and I notice some bounce to the headlights... Should I add the foam around the headlights? Does the ofam go on the bottom or the top? or all the way around? I didn't buy projectors because I thought they would bounce and here I buy the chinese made aftermarkets and they bounce.. Do you think its the brackets? Should I try swapping the mounting brackets?
 
I've used the adhesive foam strips I've found at autozone. I cut off maybe a 6" strip and stuck it on the underside of the headlight. Tuck it far enough back so its not so visible, but its black so its not too much of an eyesore if seen. Its def helped my bouncy light situation, hope it helps yours.
 


How well do you think a set of factory brackets would help with bounce? I have new OE style lights and they bounce like hell.
 
Just finally fixed mine by looking at another thread. The best solution I have found is get some Styrofoam about say 2 inches thick and about 4 to 6 inches long and stick the piece between the metal on the bumper and the bumper cover just below the headlights. You may need to slightly bend the mounting on the frame of the car where the lights attach to but that will definitely fix any problem with bouncing. You can even use a piece of wood to do it also like say a 2 by 4 but I wouldn't recommend that because of it getting wet
