Heading to the dyno

Tomorrow I'm scheduled to have the Monte dynoed in order to get the PCM to accept the Novi 2k and hi flow fuel pump. With my old Novi 1k setup I put down 348whp. That was with the stock fuel pump not being able to keep up too. Now I'm hoping to see some bigger numbers.

As with a lot of the dyno threads out there, anyone want to take a guess at how much power the Monte will make with the Novi 2k? Should be a fun day.

I always wanted to buy one of these kits. I just never found enough info to see what or how it compares to a m90 build or ZZP turbo kit

the centrifugal supercharger has the advantages of a supercharger and a turbocharger with better volumetric efficiency than a roots style blower. I wish they still made them.

Well I understand that but is there proof that it makes more power then a m90 cam intercooler build for example?

or how does it rank against the zzp z7/z3 or stattama kits

I like the "being different" factor. I also like the whistle at idle. I've looked for this kit for both my regal and my eclipse Spyder and never found one in time
can't wait to see your results.

same here. i always pondered swapping over to a CSC setup over the blower but it always goes back to is the trans wont last as long as with the blower though :-\

both crazy and i knew about that for sale thread lol. how often was the trans driven hard and (if) any track passes did you do with the novi 1k? that also varies on its longevity.

good luck later today. hope for some nice numbers o the new setup :-)

It was driven hard with the Novi 1k but I avoided driving it hard with a 1-2 shift. Did many burnouts with it both before and after the CSC, and after the Novi 1k I was constantly having fun passing people.

I've ran it at the track probably around a dozen times when it was NA, but never had the chance to go with the 1k. If today goes well, I'll be going to US131 sometime this spring/summer. Sooner rather then later. If my trans says goodbye, it'll be awhile, lol.

Thank you for the kind words btw.

from my understanding and experience i had thought the 1-2 shifts can handle the power, its the 3-4 clutch packs that get worn out, but then again im speaking from a turbo application. would think the same would be for a CSC setup given the smaller pulley? again we shall see with the 2k novi setup where it's making power. :-)

4th gear is the weak point but I never drove it faster then 105ish and when I did I always had it in 3rd to avoid the 3-4 shift too. I know that one of these days I'm going to have to have the trans redone, but I'll do it when it finally breaks. I think the thing that's saved me so far is that I don't have sticky tires for it right now. I did do one or two 1-2 shifts and all of 1st gear was useless before it shifts by 50-55mph. Tires spin like crazy. Even when I was NA my tires would chirp shifting into 2nd.

IIRC 3-4 clutch are grouped back to back (much like the 1-2 clutches are) so if 3rd goes so does 4th regardless if it shifts into 4th at WOT (which i never did and others most likely never did either). its when 3rd goes it takes 4th with it (been there a few times).

true, also depends on how the trans tune is setup up which can help prolong the inevitable. not trying to be a debbie-downer but enjoy the setup nonetheless :-)

Well, it made 356whp. Lol. We were only able to do one pull because the MAF and injectors maxed out. So I bought a fixed frequency mini AFC. Once I install that, some 60# injectors, and the intercooler, they think it'll make around 425whp.
