you have to have the front on, but the bolts just loose, and the crossover pipe on, but the clamp not tight, and then you should be able to get the rear header on
 
if you left the two studs on the head you lift the header to the studs and get the nuts on them, then snug em up and put the rest of the bolts in.

lowering the sub frame will help get it up to the engine if thats the issue.

you did this all backwards lol

rear header on first, then crossover in the rear, then slip it into the front header. line the front up and bolt it up to the front head.

dont clamp the cross over till both front and rear headers are bolted in tight, then clamp the crossover pipe.
 


Id recommend "massaging" the firewall where the rear o2 will be located before you get it in and see there aint much room
 
Yeah I made the mistake of doing the front first. The engine was pushed forward with a little mechanical jack tower. Rear valve cover had to cone off too. I'd never thought it was this much work. Also I bought 2 exhaust clamps from zzp can I not use those to tighten the crossover pipe with the front and rear header? It seems to big to tighten.
 
valve cover had to come off? i took all the pull brackets off the rear of the engine, my huge gorilla hands fit back there no problem.

the cross over pipe is 2.25 band clamps, the down pipe is 3 inch band clamps. put the band clamp on the rear header first, then put the pipe in the rear header. the front one you can put on after the fact, theres no room in the back to install it later one.

I was frustrated saw it best with the valve cover off. I have big hands too haha. But I just realized I ordered the exhaust clamps at 3in... So those will be pretty much useless for the crossover. Will it be a dumb idea to use the ones to tighten air intakes? Haha. If not I'll just stop by the auto parts store.
 


Just for future reference, rocking the car forward and applying the ebrake makes pushing the motor forward a bit easier than using straps or a small jack. I usually rock it a couple times and slam the brake at the forward most point, way easier for me.

thats a good way to do it, more than one way to skin a cat. sometimes I will rock the car forrward and then put a rock or something under the wheel to keep it from rolling back
