just as important if not more important than temps is if any vacuum drop is present. an intake that is overly restrictive will have an additional vacuum drop created in the tract. you want an intake that presents as little of a restriction as possible to the vehicle while maintaining low temperatures and performance.

Headers arrived today...

.450+ flanges...so we'll say 1/2" --- primaries were actually 1.5" vs the 1.75 people reported the SD headers as. they feed 1.52id primaries into a 2.14id crossover into a 2.9x collector. so say 3" there...basically they measured everything but the primaries as OD as opposed to ID on the flyer. Overall not bad for 168 bucks though :)​
 


they will be ordered along with the SC gasket, oil, needle bearings, etc. as im doing the ported blower and headers at the same time. weekend project with plenty of beer to go around.
 
I have previously wrapped all of my headers on other vehicles. i can understand not wrapping them on an all season car due to salt/moisture but i'd like to keep engine bay temps down as much as possible. Any safe way to do this?
 


Pull the hood seal (rubber deal) get your fans tuned to come on around the thermostat etc. Our engines are stuffed in a box. Heatsoak is inevitable, so it's not typically worth killing the headers with wrap.
 
zzp hearders are supposed to be the best flowing headers on the market...

but that test was also done BY zzp soooo take it with a grain of salt...

Ceramic coating like jet hot or similar.
