• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Headers installed last night.

After putting headers on with the big help of billboost, I have noticed that not only are they one of the best mods for the car(based on my broscience and how much the car loves it), but that dropping the cradle bolts and putting in the rear header takes about 20 minutes if that. Plus 10 minutes if you're not bill lol. All in all, with 3 parts runs, getting food, drinking beer, drilling out a broken manifold stud, flipping the sway bar(upstream O2 was unable to go in) and going at a modest pace, took us about 6 1/2 hours. So factoring if everything went according to plan it could have been a 4 hour job or less even with my slowness doing a good chunk of the work. So I would say lowering the cradle is one of the best things to do and also fairly easy when it comes to installing the rear header.

Glad you like the headers!

Protip: Dropping the cradle isn't for everyone! If you don't have someone who knows what they are doing don't do it, serious injury can occur.

HUH? If you can jack the car up to put on headers..you can remove two bolts and lower a cradle 3 inches.

More serious injury will happen from going under an improperly jacked up car (falling on you) than lowering the cradle incorrectly and dropping it out the bottom (maybe an arm or hand at most)

We did this exactly like the How to thread I posted yesterday. Great when it's all fresh. This weekend I'll zip off a bunch of pics to add to the write up.

So to recap. Worst case scenario you loose the ability to clap. But danger aside even the most inexperienced wrench turner can accomplish this while drinking :th_winking:

Well...that's where I'm going to tell you. I don't suggest anyone work on a car while drinking. When working around something this heavy, or even just the belts where a hoodie pull cord etc could pull you in and mame you.. you should focus all your attention on the machinery and project at hand.

Sure I've had a few beers while working on cars. I've also had a few close calls that have woken me up in the past. Always be careful, use the right tools/good tools and you'll find things are much easier.

note to self. do not wear hoodie. lol i dont know what it was about that statement but my heart nearly stopped :th_nervous:. maybe its because im always in a hoodie.

lol red robin is good imo, but that bobby flay burger place in mohegan sun(It's in a Casino in CT for the unaware) destroys any chain burger place out there imo. I'm sure they're more Bobby Flay's out in the country, but i've only been to this one lol.

i must find this bobby flays

hope your liking the headers man. you gonna keep the rockers for a bit? or are you stepping up to the cam soon?

If you go, don't make the mistake of ordering just one like I did. :th_laugh-lol2:

LOVING the headers, even with the death hiss/tick of single wall flex(soon to be wrapped). It depends on the ratio of the rockers, if it's 1.8x or 1.9 i'll keep them. If it's less, well.......:D Wait. No! Bad NE person! I have a goal of 300 crank hp to stick to, and you people don't make it very easy. :th_laugh-lol2:

Wotgtp- are you ever up in the Holyoke Mall area? I see a silver Daytona with CT plates up here now and then, maybe not you but just wondering

I was the one telling you to stay with the rockers for a bit... i didnt evan say IC it...yet lol

LOL

Nope not me, however I'm curious about it since I have not seen another one in CT yet. On an unrelated note there's two silver GTP coupes in my town driving around with some aftermarket exterior upgrades. I'm like "wtf I get a silver gtp and this sh*t happens"?!?! lol

Too many silvers, ... at least your's stands out from the pack. Told you those stickers are going to be babe magnets.

Scott, he's going to cam. It's inevitable. He stops by/texts etc telling me that he is in love with the whipple kits. Max had to talk him down to a more reasonable reality of dual chargin.
