Header Wrap?

DEC

New member
Allright I bought ssac headers and was looking into getting header wrap but was woundering if any one has done this before and do you have any tips? also how much wrap will i need?

I did my pacesetters, I think 2 large rolls will cover you. Make sure you get the stainless steel zip ties too. There is an art to do it correctly, you put the entire roll in a bucket of water and wrap the headers with wet wrap, this is so you can get it tight, you don't want to overlap too much or too little, creases are no good either. Typically you do one full wrap around the end of the pipe (where the flange is) then overlap 1/4 inch over each wrap after that. I used DEI exhaust wrap and it worked well, i also used the silicone spray to cure the wrap, and all has been good.

-make sure you wear latex gloves, and maybe even a dust mask.
-This **** gets everywhere
-you will be itchy afterwords
-if you do decide to use the silicone spray to cure it, then you have to wait till the header wrap is dry.

This video is super ghey but it helped me

A good video installation on exhaust wrap for head - Car Videos on StreetFire

i did the same as 99, except it only took 1 roll of the dei wrap to do my ssac's. get one can of the silicone and 2 packs of the stainless steel lock ties and your set.
